Hogarth Communications

Don Hogarth is a communications specialist with more than 15 years experience in public relations and print journalism. Don’s career has spanned the corporate, agency and political environments. His skills and experience include strategic communications counsel; corporate, product and program announcements to the consumer and business markets; speechwriting; issues management; and crisis communications.

Before his work as an independent communications consultant, Don was Vice President in the Advanced Technology practice at Environics Communications, in Toronto. In his public relations career, Don has managed and executed communications programs for Bell Canada’s Enterprise and SMB divisions (in an agency capacity), Xerox Canada, the Canadian Recording Industry Association, Primus Canada, Sustainable Development Technology Canada, AirIQ (business and consumer telematics/vehicle location), the Puretracks music service and several other organizations. He has managed numerous corporate announcements such as the launch of Puretracks and Primus Canada’s TalkBroadband VOIP phone service, and helped many clients to build their brands and drive customer sales.

Before joining Environics, Don managed external relations at Bell Canada, with responsibility for media relations, telecom analyst relations, stakeholder relations and Bell’s website Newsroom. Don played a leading role in many corporate communications initiatives at Bell, coordinating external and internal public relations activities as well as with other corporate departments, such as marketing and finance.

Prior to Bell, Don was Deputy Press Secretary to the Premier of Ontario, acting as a spokesperson and communications advisor on government issues and initiatives.

Don began his career as a journalist at a regional daily newspaper, progressing ultimately to a position as Marketing Columnist at the Financial Post. Don holds a Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University and a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD.
